CAMPFIRE CHOCOLATE @ Mörk Chocolate Brew House - North Melbourne, AUS

Good morning chocolate lovers!
Today I ate/drank/annihilated chocolate from Melbourne's Mörk Chocolate Brew House.
After sampling a bit of their famous chocolate back at Black Star Pastry in Sydney, I knew I had to come here to try more of their incredible desserts for myself...
Mörk Chocolate Brew House is a chocolate cafe inspired by the crazy coffee culture in Melbourne. Like a regular cafe, Mörk serve food as well as beverages, the only catch is they do it with chocolate.
For example, this is Mörk's breakfast of champions "Cereal & Milk", a bowl of popping chocolate clusters, dehydrated cinnamon meringues, buckwheat cocoa flakes, caramelised hazelnuts and sour cherries and served with chocolate milk. Ha, see you CAN have a chocolate breakfast - take that mom!
Unfortunately we didn't get to try the Cereal & Milk today after stuffing ourselves at Seven Seeds earlier (much regret there), but we did try some of the other Mörk favourites:
"Campfire" and the "Seed, Nut, and Pod".
The "Campfire" is how it sounds... well sort of. On a wooden board is a glass of smoke, a jug of their signature dark chocolate, a toasted marshmallow, and a few pinches of charcoal salt.
This drink is not only inventive but fun and interactive. Like a real campfire, each individual component is designed to make you feel like you're really enjoying your favourite hot, sweet beverage by an open flame, only safer :)
The "Seed, Nut, and Pod" is more of the sitting by the window on a rainy day, snugged in a mink kind of drink. Dark hot chocolate brewed with sesame hazelnut caramel and served with a matcha biscuit? Kinda reminds me of grandma's house on the weekends as a child, and dunking biscuits into a cup of hot english tea... Mmmm how nostalgic!
We also decided to try the ultimate chocolate experience - the "Pure Dark" 100% pure cacao chocolate shot.
This "Pure Dark" 100% single origin cacao is a pure chocolate shot with no milk or sweetener added. It is sort of like drinking a really strong espresso. Like coffee, pure chocolate has a flavour profile, but for the untrained tongue those flavours can be hard to identify on the palate. I'm not too bad with espresso but I admit that the pure chocolate was tricky! The flavour was quite mighty and intense, nothing like the chocolate I am used to. I could taste the sourness of grapefruit, but struggled to find the honey sweetness. They gave us a vile of coconut blossom sugar which helped quell the bitterness, and yes I had to use quite a few drops...
Though it was super intense, in actual fact I found it quite enjoyable, and I am happy to report that I have a new found appreciation for chocolate at a very different level. I think everyone should give 100% cacao a go, don't knock it 'til you try :)
