Yes!! I have arrived in Melbourne finally! I've been wanting to come to this city ever since I was a teenager, and now here I am, it really is a dream come true.
Mr. Cardigan and I have been up since 4:30am to catch our plane from Sydney, but an early flight in means a yummy breakfast in our first Melbourne cafe!
Our first destination was purely based on location and proximity - the closest cafe to our Airbnb and also the first on our list: Hardware Société.
There are many eateries on Hardware Lane, but none stand out more than Hardware Société, a cafe that fuses the best of French and Spanish cuisine.
But first, coffee!
Today I drank a Matcha Latte with soy.
Usually I don't drink soy, but as it turns out almond milk isn't really a big thing in Melbourne. Nonetheless, my soy matcha was super delicious. Pretty too :)
Mr. Cardi had a long black, which was very mellow but tasty (just how I like it!).
They serve their coffees with a sweet treat on the side too, which is really cute!
Today I ate Baked Eggs
Baked eggs with chorizo sausage, potatoes, piquillo peppers, queso mahon (cheese), toasted almonds, aioli, and toasted bread.
Today I also ate Lobster Benedict.
A classic benedict spun with fresh shredded lobster, citrus hollandaise, soft herbs, bun noir, and poached eggs.
There is something about citrus and eggs that make perfect sense. There is something about lobster that just makes you go mmmmm.... There is something about everything on this dish that was just right from start to finish.
Well, now that we have full bellies, onwards to find the next best thing in Melbourne! I'll leave you all with an adorable interpretation of America's President.
