Good. Wholesome. Simple and delicious.
There are four adequate adjectives that describe the corner cafe in Darlinghurst, Sydney. This local coffee house not only does an incredible Cold Drip coffee, but some of the best eggs on toast I’ve ever had, and it’s all down to just a pinch of salt.
Fried Eggs on Toast, with a side of avocado and bacon
When I was first learning how to cook, fried eggs was something I loved to make; it was easy and super tasty.
20 years later, it is still one of my favourite foods.
On a thin slice of sourdough lies two perfectly fried eggs, dusted with just a shade of pepper and flakey sea salt, nothing more, and that’s why we love it.
Also, the bacon here is cooked extra crispy, just how I like it!
Chia Seed Porridge
This is legit my FAVOURITE porridge. I can make porridge at home but why would I; it’s warming, it’s full of fresh fruits, and it’s laden with Dark Callebaut chocolate bits - YES PLEASE.
Gruyere Cheese and Ham Toastie
An understated yet absolutely delicious item on the menu, the humble cheese toastie is exactly what you need for “one of those days”.
Sharp gruyere cheese, smokey ham, and a buttery crisp toast makes this some of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a while.
Black Sesame Cookie (by Brickfields)
You may have seen these across cafes in Sydney and for good reason; Brickfields is known for their outstanding pastry selection, and they wholesale their products to a good portion of cafes and restaurants in town.
The Black Sesame Cookie is rich and dense, full of that natural black sesame flavour and not overly sweet. It makes the perfect companion to your morning coffee, or afternoon snack.
