From the guys who brought you LAZY PANDA CAFE in Hurstville.
The vibes at KATIPO is kind of like having a hipster dude on a push bike walk into your store in the 90s, takes off his helmet and coat, order a coffee, sit by the fireplace, pull out a book to read it, and has never left; and that’s a good thing - KATIPO is a place you can be in for hours, because you never feel rushed to do anything at all.
Just like the atmosphere, the food here is very simple and casual, but tasty.
This will be my second visit, for maybe I never left.
French Toast with Fresh Fruits and Cream
A classic combination of bread, fruit and syrup…
How does one make something that already tastes so good even better?
How about BACON?!
Minted Pea Smash with avocado, feta and poached eggs
A refreshing breakfast option that is most ideal for the warmer summer days ahead.
The minted peas add a touch of uniqueness to the already favourite Smashed Peas on Toast concept; the added avocado and feta make it even creamier.
The Big Benny with Bacon and Mushrooms
It’s a Big Breakfast, stuffed inside a Croissant, and everything tastes better when it’s inside a croissant.
My favourite thing about this dish is the Balsamic drizzle, which adds a tang of flavour that balanced the richer elements together.
Salmon Poke Bowl with avocado, pickles, seaweed and sweet ginger served on Soba noodles
It wouldn’t be a Bondi cafe without a Poke Bowl.
TAKE A LOOK AT THAT SOY SAUCE DRIZZLE, MORTY, TAKE A REAL GOOD LOOK!
Pictured at the top: Pumpkin Smash with Feta, Kale and Poached Eggs
A perfect plate for the vegetarians. Creamy smashed pumpkin with freshly cooked kale and eggs… Healthy AND delicious!
Don’t forget those colourful lattes!
Address: 101 Bondi Road, Bondi, Sydney
Price Guide (approx): $30pp
Super simple menu, doesn’t go over the top and it’s so delicious
Easy going atmosphere, you always feel welcome
There’s simple, but there’s also “already done”. Maybe it’s time to change it up!
