Back where it all began.
Qube on Bay is a special place for me. It is where I first started to stand on chairs to get those flatlays perfect, and where I met my friend Jess Lazy Panda. Whenever I come to Qube, I always bring Jess, and today’s no exception. As usual, we got down (and up on those chairs) to get those perfect shots, and have some delicious food, and it’s still amazing as usual.
Boba Souffle Pancakes with Lime Mascarpone + Butterscotch Sauce
The truth is... Boba tea is not really my thing, but Boba Soufflé Pancakes is something I can’t get enough of. Qube’s Soufflé Pancakes are light, fluffy, and incredibly moreish - it’s something you can easily have a lot of without realising you’ve finished the whole plate. Even if you don’t have the biggest sweet tooth, you will appreciate the creaminess of the mascarpone to balance the brown sugar. 10/10 will come back to devour again!
The Meat Ball with Napolitana sauce, basil pesto, mozzarella cheese, crispy sage and garlic sourdough.
This was my FAVOURITE dish of them all. The Meat Ball is moreish, savoury, and oh so delicious…it was almost too good to share!
Mushroom Soup with pearl barley, quinoa grilled shittake, toasted pepitas, porcini dust, chilli flake, shiso leaf infused oil with garlic sourdough toast (vegan).
This was surprisingly delicious. I am never ashamed to admit that I still assume vegan food doesn’t taste good, but then I remember it’s Qube. I enjoyed the texture of the quinoa in the soup, it gives it a thick texture that would substitute cream. Delicious!
Mushroom Ragu on Toast with heirloom tomato, baked pumpkin slice, grated parmesan, poached egg, basil oil and maple glazed bacon.
A great vegetarian option, without the bacon. The mushroom is a great substitute for the meaty flavour. Also, who says no to bacon? :)
French Toast with Yuzu curd, Matcha Mascarpone, Yuzu Macerated Seasonal Berries and Toasted Pistachios.
This is a great dessert dish for people who don’t have sweet tooths. There’s plenty of sweetness in the brioche, the matcha level in the mascarpone is perfect, balanced with the tartness of the berries. This is a Qube signature, and will always be.
