Just because I like to take time capturing photos of my food, doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the food. True, that the two loves don’t always mix well; how can one enjoy the food when the dish is not eaten fresh? Well, it can still be fresh, it just depends who you’re eating and shooting with :)
Winter can be cruel to brunch photographers who like to shoot during the day. There’s not enough light/it’s too cold to shoot outside. My friend Marie and I dealt with the complete opposite with it being overly sunny. Fortunately for us that’s two positives: we get to play with the light, and our food will stay warm for longer. See our images for what we were able to capture on this fine day.
West Juliett Waffle with nutella sauce, mascarpone, seasonal berries and crushed pistachios - YUM, love this waffle. It was soft and fluffy, and the mascarpone was the best thing on top of it.
Maple Bacon Benedict with kale, poached eggs, sriracha hollandaise on sourdough - LOVE all the flavours: sweet, creamy, spicy.
House-made pie with chicken, mushroom and leek served with potato mash, carrots and broccolini - another winner, who doesn’t love a house-made pie? Very wintery dish.
The house made sodas we had were also amazing. Not too sweet, and sort of reminded me of iced tea.
Highly recommend everything we ate.
